Well May - that’s a wrap! It’s been fun but now it’s time to say goodbye until next year. It always shocks me when the end of another month comes. Time is such a fickle thing, moving too fast and too slow simultaneously. Wild isn’t? Well anyways dear reader, this is the first post for my Monthly wrap up series so lets break down this series template together! The last post of each month will be a wrap up of all the bookish things I did during the month: books read, what formats I enjoyed, total pages read, goals achieved, and lessons learned. A sort of tracker for myself that I just happen to share with all of you! As for format - Anyone who knows me knows I have an obsession with checklists. They make me feel accomplished and so twice a month you, my sweet reader, will get two posts that are 90% lists showing my goals (start of month) and accomplishments (end of month). I hope you enjoy!
Let’s jump in!
My overall feelings about May 2021: It wasn't a book heavy month for me. I had more days that I had no desire to jump into a story than days that I dove in headfirst. Those days are always sad for me - the days when something that brings me as much joy as reading does just can’t seem to help are always the hardest days. However after reflecting and journaling about my May book journey I can say I feel more pride in myself than anything else for having the hardship of slumps and still completing SOME goals and crossing off some titles from my TBR.

It didn’t go as planned but I gave it a shot! (Keep an eye out for a bonus post about this later this week as well!)
Summary: May was kind to me! I read some books, enjoyed some new worlds or revisited ones I loved, and even completed a few goals! I think a pat on the back for myself is warranted! I am excited for June and all that I will accomplish! New month, new beginning, new books! That is the great thing about reading; the fact that there is no end! Every month new books will come out and my TBR will grow and every month I will read books and my TBR will shrink and the cycle won't ever end! What a blessing and a curse! To never run out of the thing you love while also knowing you will never finish the TBR and successfully read ALL the books. Blows my mind!
Well until next time (tomorrow),
J.
